I'm going to bring this is chronological order as much as possible. It will be updated as I continue to go through the game.
Monsters:
Deku Baba (withered) - "Though it looks withered, it will hurt you if you touch it!" This creature pops out of the ground from a tall grass, and it stands up straight and chatters at the air. After a few moments it will began to spin in circular motions from its stem. Avoid touching it. Select it with Z and strike it with your sword (a jump attack is easiest). You will receive a stick for killing it. After a little while it will grow back. First found on the pathway to the Great Deku Tree.
Deku Baba - "Hit it when it lunges at you, and it will stand upright. Cut it quickly to get a Deku Stick!" Keep out of its way and hit it when it lunges. Once it's standing straight (like the withered Deku Baba) hit it again quickly for the stick. Alternatively you could jump and strike while it is preparing a lunge and you will receive a Deku Nut. Avoid the jump and strike when it is lunging because it sometimes hurts you. First found Inside the Great Deku Tree.
Skullwalltula - "Be careful not to touch it!" They're usually on one of the vine walls and are one of the most annoying creatures in the game if you ask me. It's much easier to just kill them with the slingshot or bow and arrow (or sword if you can reach) than to avoid them. If it's impossible to kill them from where you are, then you'll have to try and avoid them. Obviously, when it turns purple coloured and shivers threateningly, stop and wait. Otherwise you will be knocked down the wall.
Deku Scrub - "It will hide in the grass if you get close to it. Bounce the nuts it spits back at it!" These are rather annoying too but are easy to beat. Simply use Z to focus on it, use your shield, and hit it with its own medicine. Then stand on its leafy base until it finishes running around and it will offer you information and burrow away. You usually receive a heart, but I have received rupees before as well. You can receive a variety of items, though usually it is Deku Seeds or arrows. First found Inside the Great Deku Tree.
Big Skulltula - "It's soft belly is its weak point!" These are so annoying that I wish I could kill them all forever. I guess if you're more observant than me then they won't be able to sneak up and dart down in front of you and hurt you. Anyway, select it with Z and wait for it to turn. Strike it with your sword (jump and strike works best because it will spin if you get too close). It takes two normal strikes as young Link and one normal strike as old Link. Alternatively a Deku Nut is useful at stunning it and striking easily. I've found that it doesn't drop items too much. First found Inside the Great Deku Tree.
Peahat - "Its weak point is its roots!" I honestly don't recommend fighting them. Not only is it time consuming but it's also a huge waste of slingshot ammo - trying to hit these guys is like finding the soft spot in a rock. If you're lucky you'll get to kill it before almost dying. Regardless, try shooting it with your slingshot (or bow and arrow or boomerang) until it dies. You usually only get rupees. First found in Hyrule Fields.
Stalchild - "Don't be afraid of the Stalchild! Just attack it repeatedly!" I don't care what Navi said, but when I was little, I was scared of them. Not so much anymore. They're just odd. Anyway, either run around in circles until morning or strike them with your sword. Twice with the sword should do it, or one jump and strike. You can use any weapon, really, but swords are just easier seeing as they pop out of the ground. An enormous comes up at the end of the night. Just keep hitting him and he dies. You usually get Rupees. First found in Hyrule Fields.
Guay - "Destroy it before it flies into you!" These are so freaking annoying. They fly around and then lunge in to you, and unless you have the Hyrule shield, good luck stopping it! If you can, shoot it from the sky with your slingshot. That, or if you manage to deflect the thing, kill it with your sword! First found in Lon Lon Ranch.
Keese - "When you get close to it, use Z Targeting. Even if it flies away you can still target it." About as annoying as the Guay. It's much easier to use Z Targeting when attacking them. One strike from the sword or a shot from the slingshot or bow and arrow should get rid of it. When they're on fire, they're even more annoying. You usually get ammo, rupees, or hearts. First found in Royal Family's Tomb in the Graveyard.
ReDead - "It's gaze will paralyze you. If it bites you, tap and button to escape!" These things gave me nightmares when I was little - and still do. Anyway. I avoid attacking them. However, sneaking up behind them and striking them repeatedly with the sword should do the trick. And if you play the Sun's Song, you can sneak up behind it much more easily. Try to avoid getting the thing to look at you! You usually get a magic potion. First found in Royal Family's Tomb in the Graveyard.
Poe - "If you stare at it with Z Targeting, it will disappear!" They're easy to kill. Just don't use Z Targeting. If you're far enough away, just use your slingshot or bow and arrow - but don't Z Target. If close enough, strike with the sword. Wait for it to appear again and continue to strike. If you have a bottle, obviously use it. Sometimes the poe will heal you, while other times it is bad. First found in the Graveyard.
Wolfos - "Draw it close to you and watch its movement carefully! Attack it when it drops its guard!" At first this thing scared me, but now I think it's cute and adorable - I love wolves! Regardless, you have to fight it in order to get to the second dungeon as young Link. When it's about to strike you, strike it first. It's back is also a soft spot, so try and get around to the back! It takes a couple strikes but it's not that difficult to kill. You usually get rupees or ammo (if anything!). First found in the Sacred Forest Meadow.
Mad Scrub - "If you get close to it, it will hide in the grass..." They usually spit three times at a time, so only the last seed will hit it. If you don't have a proper shield, use your slingshot and try to dodge the bullets. It takes two hits to kill them. They usually leave you hearts. First found in the Sacred Forest Meadow.
Red Tektite - "Lock on to it as it jumps with Z Targeting!" You have plenty of times for this. Using Z Targeting, just shoot it with your slingshot or bow until it dies. If you'd rather use your sword, it's safer to wait until it lands to strike with a jump and strike. You usually get rupees. First found on Death Mountain Trail.
Beamos - "Watch out for its searching beam! I bet it doesn't like smoke to get in its eye!" They shoot a laser out of their eye if you get too close to them. Throw a bomb at them - it sometimes takes a few. Avoid getting close to their head when it pops off because it explodes! You usually get bombs. First found in Dodongo's Cavern!
Baby Dodongo - "Watch out for its leaping attack! It will explode after it's defeated!" Basically just strike itw with your sword before it attacks you. Keep your distance when it dies because it will blow up. They're not overly difficult to kill but can be annoying. You usually get bombs. First found in Dogondo's Cavern.
Business Scrub - "If you get close to it, it will hide in the grass..." Use your shield to deflect the shield, or quickly strike it with your slingshot. Go up to it and it will give you a deal - usually it's not worth it but there are a few good ones, like the upgraded ammo storage, the heart container, and a few other things. You might get a heart. First found in Dogondo's Cavern.
Dodongo - "Watch out for its fiery breath! Use Z Targeting techniques!" These are fun to kill - sefriously, no sarcasm intended. Anyway. Walk up behind them and strike them and then move. They spin around very fast and that can hurt you. Dodge the fire breath and then go to its tail again and strike. Always strike the tail and repeated the process until it dies. It explodes when it dies so keep your distance! You get hearts, rupees, and other things. First found in Dogondo's Cavern.
Armos - "Stop its movement and then destroy it!" Occasionally I'll find them difficult to kill, but you just have to move quickly. Z Targeting can make it easier. You can only kill it with bombs! Be careful because before it dies it will spin violently and explode. You can get a variety of items! First found in Dogondo's Cavern.
Fire Keese - "Destroy it before it flies into you! If you don't, its flames will burn up your Deku Shield!" Always use a Hyrule Shield when fighting these. They're annoying and come out of nowhere sometimes. Slingshot it or strike it with your sword when it comes close! Hearts and rupees are common rewards. First found in the Dogondo's Cavern.
Octorok - "Bounce back the rocks they spit at you!" Purple octopus with a temper? Yep, that's these guys! Anyway, easy enough to kill but annoying because they always pop up in the most inconvenient times. Use your Deku Shield as young Link or the other shields as old Link and bounce back the seeds. That are use your sword or slingshot, boomerang, or whatever else you have to kill it for good! Don't get much. First found at Zora's River.
Blue Tektite - "It hard to beat on the water. Lure it onto the land!" Or use your slingshot and what not to kill it from a safe place. Either way, it's hard not to kill them when they're always getting in the way. You can get a variety of things from them, like hearts and rupees. Strike them with their sword if you confront them face on. First found at Zora's River.
Shabom - "If you try to cut it, it will bounce off your blade!" They basically just big bubbles that get in the way and knock you off places you need to be on. Shoot them with your slingshot or whatever it is you can - if close enough, you can do a special sword trick to pop it but sometimes it will bounce off the blade like the description says. They're usually full of hearts and rupees and ammo though! First found in Jabu-Jabu's Belly.x
Biri - "If you touch it, you will be electrocuted!" Man I hate these things. Almost impossible to kill them and get unscathed unless you have he Great Fairy skill or the boomerang. Try and avoid them until you get the boomerang, but you can kill the with your sword - but you will get electrocuted. You sometimes get hearts though so it's alright! First found in Jaba-Jabu's Belly.
Stinger - "Destroy it before it flies into you!" Basically, wait for it to come out of the way, and shoot it or slash it twice to get rid of it. They're annoying when they're hanging around because sometimes you might not notice them. Anyway. They're usually easy to kill but you don't really get much for a reward. First found in Jabu-Jabu's Belly.
Tailpasaran - "Its tail is its weak point!" You can usually avoid these, but if you want to kill them, use the boomerang and possibly your sword until it's dead. You sometimes get hearts and rupees. First found in Jaba-Jabu's belly.
Parasitic Tentacle - "It seems that the narrow part is its weak point... You need a particular iem to destroy it!" In order to destroy it, you need the boomerang. Hit it repeatedly with the boomerang! After the first hit you'll have to get under it for it to come down, but keep hitting it and don't be afraid of its swinging. You might get some hearts. First found in Jabu-Jabu's Belly.
Big Deku Baba - "Hit it when it lunges at you, and it will stand upright. Cut it quickly to get a Deku Stick! Please read "Deku Baba". First found in Kokiri Forest.
Big Skultula - "It's soft belly is its weak point!" Please read "Skulltula". First found in Kokiri Forest.
Blue Bubble - "Guard against its blue flame with your shield!" They're just skulls flying around in blue fire. I usually hit them with the hookshot from far away, or strike them with my sword before they hit me. If I can't do that in time, I'll use the shield and then hit them while they flounder around. You sometimes get arrows. First found in Forest Temple.
Stalfos - "Lure it close to you and watch its movement careful! Attack it when it drops its guard!" These are basically Lizalfos that are faster, stronger, and smarter! Z Targeting is useful. Hit it before it strikes and use your shield when necessary! They are like wolfos, and are respectful enough to attack one at a time!
Wallmaster - "Watch out for its shadow on the floor! Destroy it before it goes back up to the ceiling!" Creepy freaks these things are! They always scared me. However, it's easier to kill them than avoid them. Stand still until the shadow appears a little and then run in circles until it falls. Strike it twice, quickly, and it will die. You usually get rupees! First found in the Forest Temple.
Green Bubble - "Use your sword when its green fire vanishes!" There's no need to use your shield because the green fire vanishes all on its own. Simply strike it when the green fire vanishes and wait until the fire goes away. You could also easily use your slingshot! You usually get Deku Nuts! First found in Forest Temple.
Like Like - "An enemy that eats shields and certain clothes. Beat it quickly to get your gear back!" An annoying enemy that is very slow moving, yet sometimes still manages to catch up to you before you realize it. Hit it with your hookshot to stun it, and then strike it with your sword! Repeat twice to kill it. You usually get magic or rupees. First found in Fire Temple.
Red Bubble - "Guard against its attack with your shield!" Annoying skull that pops out of the lava. Use your shield to protect yourself, or just run around it. It usually takes one strike to kill it! You don't get much that's salvageable seeing as it usually falls into the lava. First found in Fire Temple.
Torch Slug - "When the fire on its back is extinguished, it will run away. Destroy it before it relights!" Just strike it from behind, repeatedly, with your sword until it dies. You always get magic. First found in Fire Temple.
Freezzard - "Watch out for its freezing breath! Destroy it completely before it revives." They can sometimes be invisible! Go up behind it ans slash it with your sword! You can use a hookshot too. Takes three strikes, usually, to kill it. But if you wait, it will heal! You can get random items. First found in Ice Cavern!
Ice Keese - "Destroy it before it flies in to you!" Read "Fire Keese" or "Keese". It's always the same thing. You get various things. First found in Ice Cavern.
White Wolfos - "Lure it close to you and watch its movement carefully! Attack it when it drops its guard!" Read Wolfos. Easy to kill. You get the iron boots. First found in Ice Cavern.
Spike - "Aim for it when it retracts it spikes!" Annoying things. Hit it when it turns in to a rock. You might have to use your shield. Use your hookshot and arrow if possible, and try to avoid them as much as possible! You get random items like bombs and such. First found in Water Temple!
Shell Blade - "Its eternal muscle is its weak point!" They are also annoying! When they jump, strike their muscle mouth with your hookshot. It can be difficult because they like to stop moving at the last moment. Just keep trying and you should get them eventually! Try to avoid being hit while you're doing this. You usually get arrows. First found in Water Temple!
Gibdo - Please read "ReDead". It is basically the same thing, just mummified. And creepy too.
Dead Hand - "Watch out for its infinite hands! Aim for its head!" These guys are creepy. Anyway, you're first going to see several hands waving above the ground. Walk up to one and it will grab you, drawing out the hand. Hit buttons until you're free, then get out of range and attack the head of the creature with your sword! Repeat the process until it dies. First found in Bottom of the Well.
Floormaster - "When it splits up, destroy all the pieces before they reunite!" These things are basically the wallmaster, except they're on the floor. Use your shield to block them when they turn green, then strike them. When you think it's dead, it will split in to several smaller ones. Din's Fire is the most efficient way to kill them. You get rupees usually. First found in Shadow Temple.
Mxini-Bosses:
Gohma Larva - "Look out when it gets ready to pounce!" I'm including these as mini-bosses simply because they are a mini version of Queen Gohma. Therefore, they are a "mini" boss! Anyway, these are generally creepy even now. They fall from the ceiling, though if you're aware they exist, you can shoot them down with your slingshot, bow and arrow, or boomerang. If not, they will fall from the ceiling. When their eyes to red, kill them quickly or haul ass out of the way. Sword, slingshot, stick, stunner - anything you can use, use it. They're quick to anger and hard to get near. First found Inside the Great Deku Tree.
Lizalfos - "Use your shield well and fight with Z Targeting techniques!" I find these easy because I love to use Z Targeting. Attack them when they are about to hit you, or use your shield and try to get behind them. They take a couple of hits. You usually get rupees. First found in Dogondo's Cavern.
Bigocto - "Attack it from behind!" He is a pain in the ass, literally. Well, for him anyway. Hit it from behind with the boomerang. You may have to sacrifice a piece of your heart on occasion to get it to turn around, but when it's "butt is open" hit it with your sword! Not that difficult to kill, just time consuming! Anyway, keep hitting it! You'll probably get hearts or rupees. First found in Jabu-Jabu's Belly.
Beth - "Aim for her when she appears!" She is the blue ghost. Quite easy to kill. Shoot her from afar fro each of the paintings, and when all three paintings have been destroyed, shoot her, without using Z Targeting. Each time you shoot she will vanish, but then will reappear again. You get the compass! First found in Forest Temple.
Joelle - "Aim for her when she appears!" Same fight as above. Just with the red ghost. You get a key! First found in Forest Temple.
Amy - "Aim for her when she appears!" Same fight as the other two. The puzzle is probably the most difficult part. First found in Forest Temple.
Meg - "If she splits into multiple images, you need to figure out which one is the real one. Is it this one?" Easier than it seems! Obviously don't Z Target. Just prepare to strike with an arrow and look at them all. The one who spins is the real one, and strike her with an arrow. Repeat the process until she dies. First found in Forest Temple.
Flare Dancer - "Distinguish it's flaming clothes first..." These are easy to kill. Simply throw a bomb or two at it, then it will begin to run as a small creature. Strike it with your slingshot, sword, or arrows as much as possible! Repeat the process until it dies! Very easy I think. You can save bombs by using your slingshot to put out the fire, too! You don't get much... First found in Fire Temple.
Dark -Name- - "Conquer yourself!" I know people say the hammer works, but he always dodges. I use Dins Fire and random, Z Targeting strikes! It takes a bit to kill him, but you'll be glad when you do! You'll get the longshot! First found in Water Temple.
Bosses:
Queen Gohma: "It's one of the parasitic monsters inside the Great Deku Tree! It's eye is vulnerable when its red!" If there's anything super creepy in this place then it's this ugly beast. As a little kid when she fell from the ceiling I wanted to go run the other way. Now let's just explain how to kill her. Stun her with the slingshot in the eye when she's on the ceiling, with her eye red. Do it quickly though because she'll drop some Gohma Larva which should be fun to kill too. Then strike repeatedly with the sword when she is stunned (in her eye). Jump and strike is effective as usual. Keep striking her until she burns away in to a spidery crisp! You get the typical heart container and trip out of the dungeon. Boss of the Great Deku Tree.
King Dodongo - "This is a huge Dodongo that eats anything! Give it a shock, and finish it off with your sword!" This creature should have been scary to me but for whatever reason I didn't find him all that impressive. Anyway, stand still and wait until he opens his mouth, then throw a bomb in there! It will stun him so you can strike him repeatedly with your sword! When he curls in to a ball to roll, get out of the way (find a corner to hide in) and wait for him to roll in to a wall. Then repeat the process until he is dead. You receive a new heart container and a way out of the dungeon. Boss of Dogondo's Cavern.
Barinade - "Many parasitic jellyfish swarm around this monster. Aim for its body, protected by jellyfish!" This is a boss you have to beat by levels, obviously. Z Targeting is highly recommended, if not necessary. Target one of the ceiling parts, get close (while avoiding the electric rays) and throw the boomerang. If you miss, try again. Then target the other arms, hitting those one by one. When you hit the last one, watch out because the jellyfish WILL be thrust away from the main body. Dodge the jellyfish and hit the body with the boomerang, stunning it! now you can do two things. Either hit the jellyfish with the boomerang (getting rid of the protection) or hit the main body itself with your sword. Either way you'll be hurting it. At one point the jellyfish will be drawn back in and it will rise and start swinging around, trying to hit you. Keep throwing the boomerang. Basically this is just a test on how well you can Z Target and hit the C keys. Repeat the process until the boss is dead. You get the customary heart container and way out! Boss of Jabu-Jabu's Belly.
Phantom Ganon - "Attack him when he comes out of one of the pictures! Watch out for the fake one!" There's little I can do to help you for this one. All you do is shoot your arrow at the Ganon who comes out of the picture - and hope you hit. Stand in a corner where the electricity attack can't reach you! Once he gets off the horse you're going to have to play pass with his magic attack. Sometimes he is really good at it and it goes back and forth a dozen times, each time getting quicker. However, he isn't all that powerful and it will only take a couple more hits than usual to kill him. Boss of Forest Temple.
Volvagia - "It's the Boss of the Fire Temple, revived by the Evil King. I don't know its weak point..." Not as hard as he looks. Just wait for him to raise his ugly head from the lava pot, hit him quickly with the hammer (in the head), and then strike him with the sword. After that he will either try and run into you, blow fire, or send rocks cascading down. Just run in circles for the most part. For the rocks, just hide on whatever end he isn't flying at. Repeat the process until he dies - after awhile he will try and trick you by 'trying to come out of two holes'. It's not overly difficult. You get a heart container! Boss of the Fire Temple.
Morpha - "Master of the Water Temple. It has absolute control of water. Pull out its nucleus and attack it!" Use your longshot and Z Targeting! Do not stand still. There are often two tentacles! When the nucleus rises from the farm, grab it with the longshot and then strike it with your sword. Repeat until dead. You get a heart container. Boss of the Water Temple!
Bongo Bongo - "Boss of the Shadow Temple, revived from the well. Look at it with the eye of truth!" It is an easy monster to kill, in my honest opinion. However, it is much easier to kill with the Kokiri Boots because the regular ones are not easy to move across the base. Hit the hands with the slingshot and then strike its eye (use the eye of truth to see it). Repeat the process until it's dead! You get a heart container. Boss of the Shadow Temple!
